Minimize Eye Strain (Eyecare Advice)
Home > Vision Problems > Minimize Eye StrainIf you are like me, you spend way too much time reading or sitting in front of a computer. Here are some tips to help alleviate eye strain:
(* Note: LensListing is not a medical resource site. Always ask your doctor before trying anything!)
- Take BREAKS! Yes, this can be difficult to do. But your eyes will thank you for it. Even if it is a 30 second period that you look away from the screen or book - do it!
- Minimize reflections. Your eyes have to work twice as hard to focus if there is something reflecting in your computers monitor.
- Don't sit too close to the screen. If you can see the actual pixels you are sitting too close. You should not be closer than 18" from the monitor.
- Lower the brightness of your screen
- Make sure you have good lighting. Your momma always said not to read in dim light. Like always, mom was right!
